The curtain has closed on an inspiring edition of the 10th International Urban Freight Conference (I-NUF) — and we look back on three days of meaningful exchange.
Day 1–
During the session “Pick-up & Delivery: Urban Freight From Start to Finish,” our CEO Paola Cossu presented the URBANE Project with a speech titled “Shared facilities for the consolidation of loads and deliveries in urban logistics”, highlighting its innovative last-mile delivery pilots in Thessaloniki and Bologna, which sparked strong interest and valuable discussion among experts.
Day 2 –
Paola returned to the stage for the session “Details Matter: Spatial Detail and Real-Time Innovations in Routing,” this time presenting the DISCO Project, with a speech titled:
“Enhancing Urban Logistics through a Physical Internet-led Approach and Integrated Data Spaces.”
In Paola’s words, straight from Los Angeles:
“I am so proud to have given my contribution at the I-NUF conference this year in Los Angeles.
Glad to have had the chance to visit the University of Southern California, a place full of good vibes for future research in urban freight!
Also, it was an interesting debate during the session “Details matter: Spatial Detail and Real-Time Innovations in Routing” with my speech on “Enhancing Urban Logistics through a Physical Internet-led Approach and Integrated Data Spaces”, on the DISCO Project!
Together, we explored the importance of strategic and optimal use of space in cities – a critical topic for urban planners that are willing to embrace the digital path to decarbonise cities by using #urbanlogistics.
The Disco innovative solutions, showcased in Thessaloniki, Ghent, Helsinki, and Copenhagen demonstrated how they can strongly contribute to the achievement of such important challenges for Smart Cities.
Space is scarce and demand is high. Digital transition is a must.
