Countdown to the Urban Logistics Innovation Day event to be held in Brussels on September 26, organized by the European LEAD project, in collaboration with POLIS and ALICE.
Urban Logistics Innovation Day is a unique opportunity to promote innovation in the urban logistics sector through innovative projects on the topic. The day aims to stimulate debate among stakeholders, and an exchange between different projects, promote the use of more innovative solutions to support cities and industry to achieve important sustainability goals, as advocated in the Green Deal and by the recommendations contained in the European Commission’s Urban Mobility Package.
The event will be held in Brussels, at COMET Louise, on September 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will consist of plenary sessions (presentations and panel discussions), breakout sessions (presentations and group discussions) and live demonstrations of digital solutions.
The DISCO project, co-financed by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program and coordinated by FIT Consulting, will also be presented during the day.
DISCO has the ambition to accelerate upscaling to a new generation of Urban Logistics, inspired by the Physical Internet, and to provide advanced tools for smart, optimized and flexible planning and use of urban spaces. DISCO will present innovative solutions, demonstrated in the 8 Living Labs, that provide for dynamic use of available city resources based on priorities through data sharing, and with the Meta Model Suite and Data Space it wants to speed up the transition process by making European cities digital and zero-emission.
Paola Cossu, CEO of FIT Consulting and DISCO coordinator, will speak about the DISCO project during Break Session II – B “Discussion on Urban Space” with a talk on “Flexible use of urban space – the DISCO case.”
The session will be also attended by: Sergio Fernández Balaguer, Head of Department EMT Madrid (Public Private Partnership (PPP) for Micro-hub in Madrid); Tina Ruohonen, City of Oslo (Urban Logistics Centre in Oslo – MOVE21); Payal Pandya, Project Manager Dublin City Council (Urban space optimisation & alignment with sustainable urban logistics).
The event is organised in cooperation with ALICE-ETP and POLIS.
