Cycling mobility: €38 million investment for new projects in Lazio region
The Lazio region is boosting sustainable mobility with a €38 million investment to expand and enhance the area’s cycling network.
The funding, allocated between 2025 and 2027, will focus on two key initiatives:
- €20 million will be dedicated to developing new cycling routes in areas currently lacking financial support.
- €18 million will fund the construction of the Ostia-Colosseum cycle path, a major infrastructure project linking Rome’s coastline to the heart of the capital.
To ensure timely execution, the Region has set strict deadlines: procurement contracts must be signed within 18 months of the program’s launch, and all construction work must be completed by 2028.
