Massimo Marciani

Chairman,

Founder and President of FIT Consulting – Expert in logistics, mobility and transport with a systemic vision and international outlook
When he is not travelling for projects, institutional missions or conferences, he lives in Rome with his family. A graduate in Demographic and Actuarial Statistics from La Sapienza University, he started His career in market research, before founding FIT Consulting in 1997, a company that is now a reference point in the logistics, sustainable mobility and freight transport consultancy sector.
Over the years, he has combined his entrepreneurial activity with a strong commitment to research, training and public policy. He is an adjunct professor at the Link Campus University in Rome, where he is also co-director of the Master in Sustainable Mobility and Transport, and has taught at the LUISS Business School.
He holds key roles at national and European level: he is President of the Freight Leaders Council, Secretary General of the Transport Compliance Rating Observatory, President of the Freight Transport Technical Committee of the World Road Association (PIARC) and member of the Expert Group on Urban Mobility of the European Commission. He is also coordinator of working groups at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and consultant to the National Road Haulage Register and ANCI.
He actively participates in scientific committees, advisory boards and research projects in Italy and abroad, promoting an integrated approach to logistics as a lever for industrial competitiveness, technological innovation and environmental sustainability.
A popular speaker at major industry events, he combines strategic vision and operational concreteness, with the aim of accompanying companies and institutions in the transformation of the supply chain into a smart, safe and sustainable one.

Paola Cossu

CEO

Managing director and partner of Fit Consulting. Degree in Demographic and Actuarial Statistics from La Sapienza University of Rome.
Her career is based on almost 30 years of experience in international and national research and innovation in the field of transport, logistics and mobility of people and goods. Since 2024 Member of the Board of Director of ALICE ‘’Alliance for Logistics Innovation through collaboration in Europe‘’, the European Technology Platform on Logistics, after 10 years dedicated to his role as co-chair of Urban Logistics (from 2014 to 2024). He has been an Ambassador of the International Data Spaces Association since 2023.
She received the prestigious TRA VISION 2024 award at the Transport Research Arena, Dublin, in the category ‘’Best Senior Researcher for CrossModality‘’ for ‘’his contribution to the digitisation of logistics and urban mobility planning‘’.
Her challenge is to help drive the Twin Transition in transport and logistics, through collaborative models and the Physical Internet.
She is co-ordinator of research and innovation projects and implementation of advanced logistics and urban logistics solutions, such as IKIGAI and DISCO co-funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Programme, and has directed several projects and studies funded by the European Commission (including EU Mission Cities), EIT Urban Mobility, IEE-STEER, LIFE+, CIVITAS, JTI-FCH, HORIZON 2020 and previous EU Research Framework Programmes 4 to 7.
Passionate about the Physical Internet, Open Logistics and e-commerce.
She was Project Manager for the EU Commission’s ‘New Mobility Patterns’ Service.
Invited Professor at the Master in Eco-mobility Management (Luiss Business School).
Member of the Scientific Committee of the European Parking Association Conference, and of PDAYs (AIPARK initiative), as a specialist in freight transport and logistics.
Author of several research and innovation articles and specialist publications in the field of urban logistics and urban mobility innovations.

Fabio Cartolano

Managing Director

Director and partner of FIT Consulting, he graduated in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bologna and received an MBA for public administration in 2011 from the same university.
He has gained extensive experience in the design, development and maintenance of various intelligent transport systems (ITS and C-ITS), freight transport and logistics processes, working in industry, public administration and research centres.
He has been Project Manager of several national and international initiatives, related to programmes for the development of traffic control centres and automatic sanctioning for LTZs, IT systems for logistic nodes, intermodal mobility, MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service).
Fabio is currently working on technological innovation in logistics, autonomous and connected driving systems.
He is member of the European technology platform ‘Alice’ Alliance for Logistics Innovation through collaboration in Europe) and evaluator at the European Commission (CINEA) for project proposals related to CCAM and at EIT Climate KIC for the evaluation of data analytics projects and climate neutral solutions for transport.

Mauro Giorgetti

Financial Advisor

He has been an Executive Advisor at FIT Consulting Srl since 2012 and a Project Manager at the same company since 2009.  Previously, he was a Founding Partner and CFO at T6 Ecosystems Srl and Cooperativa T6. In these contexts he has developed experience in the management of complex projects and coordination of teams in numerous national and international research and cooperation projects financed by the European Commission and regional and national institutions, using ESF and ERDF funds. He is also an expert in project and corporate financial management and reporting processes.
Since 2019, mauro has also been L3 Technologist at Technical Support and Operational Planning Section (STP) of the Energy Technologies and Renewable Sources Department (TERIN) (ENEA), at which he covers operational and management support activities to the Department’s co-funded projects, both in EU and national/regional scope.

Sergio Barbarino

Collaborative research & Innovation consultant

Previously Senior Director and R&D Research Fellow at the Procter & Gamble Brussels Innovation Center, he is currently Collaborative Research & Innovation Consultant at FIT Consulting, specialising in European Collaborative R&I programs. He led the practice of open innovation, especially on large collaborative research projects. He was also the most Senior Process expert for the Home Care business. He is Senior Expert for the Solar Impulse Foundation. He has won several awards for his contribution to logistic innovation and specifically the promotion of the Physical internet concept and he has been the Chair of ALICE in 2016-2019, the EU Innovation Platform for Logistic aimed at realizing the Physical Internet. Born in Naples, Italy, he has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Napoli Federico II and an MBA from the Solvay Business School in Brussels. He has created in 2007 the first group of Supply Chain & Logistic R&D within Procter & Gamble, called Supply Network Innovation Center, of which he was the Scientific coordinator for 10 years.

Luca Lucietti

Senior Project Manager

Project Manager at FIT Consulting from 2002 to 2019 for the realisation and management of national and EU research and development projects in the field of urban logistics, passenger transport and intermodality, feasibility studies in the field of freight transport and urban logistics, sector studies, impact assessment of transport measures and policies, planning and management of thematic tables and participatory planning with various stakeholders for sector plans (e.g. Freight Plans, City Logistics, PUMS, etc.). A graduate in Civil Transport Engineering from the University of Rome La Sapienza, he has gained experience in public administration in the public works sector. In 2024, the return to FIT Consulting as senior project manager.

Marisa Meta

EU Project Supervisor and Project Manager

EU Project Supervisor and Project Manager at FIT Consulting, Marisa graduated in Road and Transport Infrastructure Engineering at the University of Roma Tre. She has been working at FIT since 2019, where she has increased her expertise especially on issues related to urban mobility of people and goods, developing Urban Mobility and Sustainable Logistics Plans (PUMS and PULS) for several Italian cities, including Rome, Trieste, Cagliari, Verona and many others. In the European context, she works and coordinates multidisciplinary working groups for several European research and innovation projects in the field of urban mobility of people and goods, including the GOLIA, GECKO, USER-CHI, BOOSTLOG and URBANE projects. Since January 2023, Marisa has taken on the role of EU project Supervisor, overseeing the technical and scientific quality of FIT’s European projects and coordinating their management.

Paola Astegiano

Project Manager and Technical Manager

Senior Project and Technical Manager. Graduated in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Road and Transport Infrastructures, she joined FIT’s staff in 2023 where she is in charge of coordinating and managing research and innovation projects co-funded by the European Commission and collaborating in writing European proposals. She has more than 10 years of experience in the field of mobility and transport gained in different contexts such as universities, engineering firms and large companies, which allowed her to approach the subject from different points of view. She currently follows with particular interest the innovations related to collaborative models of urban logistics and data sharing and exchange models (e.g. data space),
She is the author of several articles and publications in national and international journals in the field of mobility of people and goods.

luca pelliccia

Luca Pelliccia

Senior Manager and Technical Lead

Transport engineer with a master’s degree from Federico II University in Naples, and his thesis was published by “The Open Transportation Journal”.  He has been actively involved in the world of mobility for over 10 years, having held various positions in both public and private contexts. Immediately after graduating, he worked as a modeller in an engineering company in Campania and then as a transport planner in a consultancy firm in Birmingham, UK, where he became a member of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT).
He then moved to Milan, where he first worked as a consultant for the Agenzia di Mobilità, Ambiente e Territorio (AMAT), before moving to ATM as an engineer and PM. In 2020, Luca moves to Rome, where he works at Enel X as a public transport specialist, working on the engineering of public transport electrification tenders globally.
In 2025, he joins FIT as Senior Manager & Technical Lead, following national and international mobility-related projects.

Alessia Paladino

Senior Project Manager

Graduating in International Studies from the University of Trento in 2014 and currently engaged in writing her master’s thesis for a Master’s degree in European and International Politics at the University of Innsbruck, Alessia Padalino has developed a specialisation in European contexts, with a particular focus on Green Deal Financing and the 2021-2027 European programming.

Professionally, Alessia has gained solid experience collaborating with European institutions, public administrations, and private entities in the field of public funding. Her interests focus on innovation, with a specific emphasis on digitalisation and sustainability in the mobility sector. She has actively participated in European research and innovation projects related to urban mobility, including TalkNet, LOGISTAR, FEDeRATED, FENIX, C-Roads, e-SMART, H2MA, MultiAPPRO, and MultiAPPRO Plus.

Alessia joins the FIT Consulting team in March 2025, taking on the role of Project Manager. In this position, she focuses on national and international projects centred on sustainable mobility solutions, actively contributing to the development of innovative strategies to address the challenges of modern mobility.

Daniele Barnaba

Project & Executive Office Manager

Graduated with a Master of Science in Economics in 2016, joined the staff of FIT Consulting in 2017. He currently holds the position of Project & Office Manager – SGQ Responsible. As Project Manager he carries out activities concerning the administrative management of European proposals, impact assessment and support within national and international research projects, in particular on administrative and reporting management. As Office Manager she carries out activities as responsible for the management of the quality system (ISO 9001), the accreditation and monitoring of the company in the various Registers of Suppliers, the organisation of internal management and organisational activities, and management and administrative support to company staff members. He also acts as the company’s Bid Manager, monitoring the main opportunities and managing the participation phase in public tenders, and supports the company’s Social Media & Communication Manager in activities related to the company’s website and social media

Filippo Mauro

Junior Project Manager

Junior Project Manager at FIT Consulting, he has obtained a Master’s Degree in Management Engineering from Università Carlo Cattaneo – LIUC, presenting a research thesis on the role of artificial intelligence in circular economy. In parallel, he completed a Double Degree program at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), specialising in Management, Communication & Information Technology. He has gained experience in both academic and business contexts, including consultancy activities for the analysis of historical data at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and projects focused on optimising organizational processes at Lega Italiana Lotta Tumori (LILT) and H.P.C. SRL.
At FIT, he is involved in analysing opportunities for participation in tenders and procurement procedures, preparing the required administrative and technical documentation, and managing relationships with public and private stakeholders.

Gabriele Perni

Social Media & Communication Manager

Gabriele is responsible for defining and managing overall communication strategies, with more than five years of experience as a specialist in European project communication. He began his career in the television industry, developing a narrative approach focused on storytelling and high-quality multimedia production. He later served as Head of Communications for the Madrid Volleyball Federation, where he managed digital channels, created multimedia content, organised events, and coordinated institutional promotion activities.
At FIT Consulting, he defines communication strategies, oversees all activities related to brand identity, and coordinates the production of graphic and digital materials, multichannel campaigns, and multimedia content, including videos, infographics, and visual identities, to enhance project results and strengthen the company’s positioning.

Francesca Angelucci

Office Manager
